Safeguarding and Vetting to the Highest Standard

Strict Vetting Policy

  • A face-to-face, video or phone interview (Imposter Check completed to verify identity).

  • Criminal records check - Enhanced DBS check and relevant overseas clearance (if necessary).

  • Identification: Passport, Driving Licence and name change documents (e.g. marriage and divorce certificates).

  • Qualifications - Degree, relevant Level 2/3 and relevant certification (e.g. first aid, autism awareness, etc.).

  • References: Two excellent references including most recent employer.

  • Date of Birth - checked against a passport, driving licence or birth certificate.

  • Proof of Address - Confirmed via recent documents (e.g. utility bill, bank statement).

  • Right to work: UK Passport/Birth Certificate or Visa.

  • CV check - Must be complete with any gaps accounted for.

  • Disqualification Declaration - all staff complete a childcare disqualification declaration confirming that they are not disqualified.

  • Barred List Search Check.

  • TRN for qualified teachers.

  • Medical Declaration to ensure fitness to teach.

  • Valid National Insurance number.

  • Character/Personality suitable in supporting staff and children.
